Many Breast Cancer Patients going in for Unnecessary Double Mastectomy

A new study has revealed that doctors are performing high number double mastectomies, especially when they are unnecessary in many cases. As per medical data, around one in eight woman suffers from breast cancer during her life time. But, around 70% of women who get both the breasts removed after diagnosis of breast cancer actually face a very low risk of suffering breast cancer in the healthy breast, said researchers from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
