Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, today (April 7) said that one out of 10 people in Hong Kong is a diabetic patient and about one-fifth of the patients had young-onset diabetes. She reminded the public that the risk of diabetes can be significantly reduced by maintaining normal body weight through engaging in regular physical activity and eating a healthy diet.
Dr Chan made the above remarks on the local situation of diabetes at a press conference for World Health Day 2016. April 7 is designated as World Health Day.
