We already know that lung cancer is the worst type of cancer to get. Not that it is necessarily any more painful or severe than other forms of cancer; simply because it is the most difficult to diagnose and that means it is often found far too long after it has already developed into something untreatable.
But a new study suggests that many lung cancer patients simply go undiagnosed because they do not qualify for the scans. And the reason they do not qualify for the scans is because they haven’t been smoking long enough. Currently, the scans require someone smoke for 30 years.
