Lung Cancer Can Remain Dormant 20 Years Before Spreading

Lung cancer can remain dormant for 20 years before it grows and spreads aggressive cancer cells, according to a new study.

Researchers analyzed lung cancers from seven patients, which included smokers, former smokers, and those who never smoked. Their research led them to discover that the initial genetic errors that cause the cancer can go undetected for up to two decades.
