Low GI Foods Lower Risk of Heart Disease, New Study Shows

A recent study shows that low glycemic index (GI) diet does not reduce insulin levels, fat levels or blood pressure in people that are already on a “heart healthy” diet such as the DASH, low-carb or Mediterranean diet. Researchers say that these findings are contrary to previous researches which had revealed that low GI diets lowered blood pressure and bad cholesterol (LDL) levels.
