London airspace closed due to computer failure

Dec. 12, 2014 - A screen shot taken from planefinder.net of aircraft approaching British airspace Friday. The European air control agency Eurocontrol says London airspace was closed due to a computer failure. Officials at London Heathrow Airport said Friday there is a power outage at the NATS control center in Swanwick, England.

LONDON – London's airspace was closed Friday afternoon due to what authorities said was a computer failure at one of Britain's two air traffic control centers.
