Lira Extends Drop After Aircraft Shot Down on Turkey's Border

The lira extended its decline after Turkey’s military shot down an aircraft on its border with Syria, heightening concern the security situation is worsening in the region two weeks before the country holds general elections.

While the military didn’t identify the type of aircraft or its nationality, Haberturk television reported it was an unmanned drone. The currency pared its third weekly gain.
