The show, created by Desperate Housewives’ Marc Cherry, averaged two million viewers during its kick off, as noted by the Hollywood Reporter. Of these viewers, 865,000 adults fell into the adults 25-54 range and 826,000 from adults 18-49. Devious Maids fell short of Lifetime’s other dramas the Client List and Army Wives, both of which premiered new seasons earlier this year with an average of 2.2 million viewers.
Devious Maids was originally developed as a pilot for ABC, but Lifetime ordered a thirteen-episode season from the creator last summer.
