Libyan militant pleads not guilty during first court appearance in Washington

Washington, D.C.’s federal courthouse is increasing its security after Ahmed Abu Khattala was placed in federal custody. Khattala is facing charges for the deaths of a U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

The accused ringleader of the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens was hauled into a Washington courtroom Saturday to face justice.
