At least 42 people died in a fiery crash between a bus and a truck in southwestern France on Friday, authorities said.
The National Gendarmerie in Bordeaux told NBC News that five people also were injured in the accident, which occurred at about 7:30 a.m. local time (1:30 a.m. ET) near the town of Libourne. The collision set the bus on fire, added Gendarmerie spokesperson Xavier Viadenc.
