Legendary actor Kirk Douglas is planning on living to see 98 next week — and, he hopes, 100 in a couple of years — so he would surely have been surprised to read his obituary, erroneously published Sunday on

The article had the headline “DO NOT PUB” — short for publish — with “Kirk Douglas Dies” and had a strange date stamp of Sept. 29, 2014. It also bore telltale signs of an obituary written in advance — as is commonly done by newspapers and magazines — with information labeled as “TK,” or “to come.”
