BEIRUT: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry Wednesday pressed Lebanese lawmakers to swiftly elect a strong president saying it was important for the presidential vacuum to be filled.
Kerry also called on Hezbollah, Russia and Iran to bring the Syria war to an end and pledged an additional $290M in assistance for Syrian crisis response. Lebanon will recieve $51M, Kerry said.
