Kendrick Lamar Takes 'To Pimp A Butterfly' To Number One

Kendrick Lamar might’ve been the star pupil of this week’s charts, but two others got in on some top 10 action. Modest Mouse weren’t able to replicate the #1 album they had on its previous project from eight years ago, but selling 73,000 copies of Strangers To Ourselves is definitely respectable. Sure third place isn’t first place, but after a seven-year hiatus, those are exceptional numbers.

Marina and the Diamonds didn’t do too shabby for herself either, as her third album Froot debuted at #8, selling 43,000 copies. Neither act could outpace Kendrick – he nearly outsold them three-times over combined – but both acts deserve some applause for their sales.
