Kazakhstan Goes to Polls as President Expected to Win

Kazakhstan is voting in a presidential election expected to overwhelmingly reconfirm the long-standing incumbent, who has ruled the former Soviet republic for more than 25 years.

Election officials in the oil-rich Central Asian nation have said they expect turnout to be high Sunday, although 74-year old Nursultan Nazarbayev's victory over his two nominal rivals is all but a formality.
