Japan’s initiative against climate change

TOKYO, Japan — Climate change is a multi-dimensional issue which, beyond its environmental impact, presents economic, social and investment challenges which drive marginal populations closer to the periphery.

And according to Junya Nakano, director, Climate Change Division, in the ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan, there are risks resulting from sea-level rise, storm surge in coastal areas, and inland flooding in urban regions as a result of climate change.
