James Best, who was best-known for playing role of a bumbling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on the TV sitcom ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ has died 88 years old. Best died on Monday night at a hospice center in Hickory N.C. following an illness complications from pneumonia as per the statement from family spokesman Steve Latshaw.
After that he was cast in The Dukes of Hazard. The show ran from 1979 to 1985 on CBS and starred Tom Wopat and John Schneider as cousins Bo and Like Duke. Best played the most famous character of an outwitted sheriff who spoke with a twangy noise.
