Ivory Coast's former 1st lady appeals conviction, 20-year sentence for post-election violence

ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast – Ivory Coast's former first lady is appealing her conviction and a 20-year sentence for her role in the West African country's post-election violence.

More than 3,000 people were killed after former President Laurent Gbagbo refused to accept his defeat in 2010 elections to Alassane Ouattara, who is now president.
