ISS astronauts perform second of three spacewalks

Two astronauts performed the second of three spacewalks in order to upgrade the international Space Station (ISS). Commander Barry 'Butch' Wilmore Barry Wilmore and flight engineer Terry Virts performed the spacewalks in which they are preparing to set up additional docking ports, which are parking spots for commercial crew capsules or space taxis at the ISS. Initial test flights are expected in 2017.

Manned flights have been on hold at the cape since NASA's shuttles retired in 2011. The retirement has left the United States without a spaceship that could send astronauts to low-Earth orbit.
