Iraq's army battles for ISIL-held city Ramadi

Iraq's army appeared to make progress Tuesday in its offensive to retake the city of Ramadi from the Islamic State, the government said.

The militant group, also known as ISIL, has held the city in western Iraq, about 60 miles from Baghdad, since May. Retaking it would provide a major psychological boost to Iraq's military, which was pushed out of the city by ISIL.
