Invasive Species Found in 2 Central Minnesota Lakes

The invasive species starry stonewart has been found in Lake Koronis in Stearns County and Mud Lake in Meeker County.

This is the first confirmed case of starry stonewort in Minnesota. The species can produce dense mats in the water that make it hard to use the lake or for native plants to grow.
