Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff appeared poised to finish atop a field of candidates in her bid for a second term Sunday, but was likely to face a center-right candidate in a runoff.

Early exit polls showed Rousseff leading, with Aécio Neves of the center-right Social Democrats in second. Environmentalist candidate Marina Silva trailed; if the trend held up, she would be eliminated from the race.
