A new study has brought in a lot of clarity in terms of the financial impact of ICD-10 implementation. Researchers from the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM) surveyed 276 physician practices.
After surveying them, the researchers came to know that the total ICD-10 cost for a small practice is around $8,167. It has been found that transition to ICD-10 has been delayed consecutively. It was considered to take place in October 2013, but it has now been postponed until October 1, 2015.
