ICD-10 and SGR Votes, Drug Tampering

Congress is voting on a bill Thursday that would delay the switch to the ICD-10 coding system by a year, Government Health IT reports. The provision is part of legislation to forestall the 24% Medicare payment cuts under the SGR formula.

The AMA is urging doctors to urge their representatives to vote "No" on that bill. The association says yet another temporary SGR fix will only make permanent repeal less likely.
