ICC: Lord's Resistance Army commander en route to The Hague

BANGUI, Central African Republic (AP) — Authorities flew a commander from a fearsome Ugandan rebel group known for abducting and torturing children out of Africa on Tuesday to The Hague where he is to face war crimes charges, officials with the International Criminal Court said.

In a statement released only after Dominic Ongwen was in the air, ICC authorities said the rebel commander would be held at a detention center in the Netherlands until his trial.
