Hungary must crack down on abuse of asylum rules: ruling party

BUDAPEST (Reuters) - Hungary must tighten legislation to stop economic migrants abusing political asylum laws to gain entry to the country, Antal Rogan, the head of the ruling Fidesz party's parliamentary group, said on Friday.

Rogan said the number of asylum seekers in Hungary had surged in the past two years and most were economic migrants for whom there were no jobs in Hungary. Many used Hungary to enter the Euroepan Union and then head to western Europe.
