Hundreds of Romanian cattle, sheep farmers protest low, late subsidies; PM says there is money

BUCHAREST, Romania – Hundreds of sheep and cattle farmers in Romania are holding anti-government protests, complaining that state agricultural subsidies are too low and often delayed.

Farmers from around Romania gathered Thursday outside government headquarters in Bucharest, some dressed in sheep skins and blowing long horns. The protest created traffic chaos in one of the busiest areas of the Romanian capital.
