Hugs do a Body Good: Study

A novel research by Carnegie Mellon University has unveiled that hugging increases immune system and fights stress. The study published in Psychological Science is based on two previous studies carried out between 2000 and 2004 and the second study was done between 2007 and 2011.

The studies involved 404 participants and they underwent 14 daily phone interviews in which daily hugs, social support and conflicts were discussed. These participants were then given a virus, either rhinovirus or influenza A, and were later quarantined in a hotel.
