HPV test more reliable than Pap in predicting cervical cancer

Human papillomavirus (HPV) tests may be the most apt method to discern the possibility of a woman developing cervical cancer in the near future, a new study suggests.

Julia Gage, the study's lead author from the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland stated, "Primary HPV screening might be a viable alternative to Pap screening alone."
