House Passes Bill to Train Syria Rebels Against ISIS

The House passed legislation Wednesday to authorize the training and equipping of Syrian rebels, approving a key part of President Barack Obama’s strategy for fighting Islamist militants in the region.

The legislation, which also funds the government through mid-December, passed 273 to 156. But more than 70 members from each party voted against it, signaling the bipartisan wariness of many in Congress to engage in another Middle East conflict.
