Hormonal Contraceptive Use Linked to Increased Risk of Gestational Diabetes

Doctors, in a recent health study, discovered that women with a history of hormonal contraceptive are 40% more likely to develop GDM or Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.

The correlation was discovered by the health researchers through analyzing the health data from 2741 pregnancies. The data was collected as for two surveys conducted by the Missouri PRAMS or Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System in 2007 and 2008.
