Hong Kong Police Clash With Rioters in Shopping District

Rioters set fires and threw bricks at police in Hong Kong early Tuesday, injuring officers and shuttering one of the city’s busiest subway stations in a clash over illegal food stalls during the three-day Chinese New Year holiday.

Police fired warning shots in the Mong Kok district in a bid to contain protesters who had self-made weapons and shields and also threw bottles, acting district commander Yau Siu-kei told reporters.
