HIV outbreak prompts request for help from CDC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) With 55 confirmed cases of HIV and another 13 preliminary positive cases linked to an outbreak in southeastern Indiana, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH)is ramping up its response efforts. All of the cases are linked to injection drug abuse of the prescription painkiller opana. Sexual intercourse has also been reported as a possible cause.
