Higher ocean acidification threat for fisheries

A new study compiled by researchers at Oregon State University states that ocean acidification poses serious threat to mollusk farming and fishing, a $1 billion industry. This is one of most comprehensive that quantifies the long-term economic risks of an overly acidic ocean.

The new study has been published in the journal Nature Climate Change. As part of the research, scientists also plotted the risks of ocean acidification on a map that is shared on the website of the National Resources Defense Council.
