In Hawaii, this is the usually time of year when trade winds blow more consistently, providing some relief from the temperate humidity. Usually, this is the case, but not this year. This year the lack of trade winds has been taking its toll.

But while the people on land have been sweating it out, hoping for a reprieve as winter approaches another species has also been struggling—corals.
