Is High-Tech Ebola Screening For Travelers A Viable Option?

Recent headlines about Ebola crossing national borders have highlighted the need for improved systems to screen travelers for infectious diseases. Developing these systems might prevent the shutting down of travel to and from affected countries. Such travel bans are likely to be ineffective, or even counterproductive, as they prevent medical and logistics personnel from reaching the center of an outbreak and stopping it.
