Hepatitis-C Wonder Drugs Rolling Out At Astronomical Prices

On December 19th, U.S. Health Regulators have approved a drug that has a cure rate of 95-100% for sufferers of hepatitis C. The company is called Abbvie and it is the second pharmaceutical in the marketplace to offer such a treatment with such a high cure rate.

The pharmaceuticals sport phenomenally high prices. Abbvie’s new treatment cost $83,319 for the full treatment schedule. Its competitor Gilead, has released Sovaldi and Harvoni costing, $84,000 and $95,000 respectively per full treatment schedule.
