October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. This annual campaign is meant to increase the public’s awareness of the disease and how to take steps to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and it is the second leading cause of death among women. While breast cancer in men is rare, one in a thousand men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. When breast cancer is detected early, the 5 year survival rate is 98%. ...
