Linda Williams and Max Soaper usually turn into bed early — really early. The couple run the nonprofit Misfit Island, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center located on 500 acres of property off Zion Road, across from Henderson County High School.

With thousands of animals to take care of — the couple took in 491 animals last year — they start their day in the early morning hours. Staying up late is impractical most nights.
