Help available for people with depression

With Mental Health Awareness Week approaching, many of us have experienced a mental illness in our lives, whether it be a family member, friend or yourself. Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people, and it does not discriminate against age, race or socioeconomic status.

In the United States, depression will effect 8 percent of adults, which means about 25 million Americans will have an episode of major depression this year. However, only about half of these individuals will receive treatment, and without treatment, their symptoms will increase over time.
