Health officials urge vaccination to combat measles

Health officials are stressing the importance of vaccination in the wake of a recent measles outbreak that has left dozens of people nationwide ill with the potentially deadly disease — the majority in California.

At least 70 people in six states and Mexico have fallen ill since mid-December, most of them from California. The vast majority of those who became sick had not received the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine.
