Wikipedia searches can now be helpful in predicting outbreaks of deadly diseases around the world as suggested by a new research. An open source of data for effective and timely disease surveillance can be simply searched from the online encyclopaedia by the people.

Scientists can now use Wikipedia to monitor the rest of the globe and for forecast the spread of diseases such as dengue fever and tuberculosis as believed by researchers.
