Harvard Team Develops ExoSuit

Conor J. Walsh, an assistant professor of mechanical and biomedical engineering with the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard, has been leading a study to develop a “soft exosuit.” This is a new kind of technology that can act as a robotic suit that can help soldiers carry heavier loads with less strain, conserve energy, and travel farther.

His team began working on this technology just after DARPA launched their Warrior Web program. This was the branch that first granted Harvard the funding they needed to begin their research.
