Exoplanet GJ581d is the first world ever discovered within the habitable zone surrounding another star, and the globe might support alien life. Some astronomers believe the signal seen from that system is nothing but noise, suggesting the world does not actually exist. However, British researchers recently released a study refuting that idea, suggesting the exoplanet is in orbit around the star.

Leading author of the paper, Dr Guillem Anglada-Escudé, said “The existence (or not) of GJ 581d is significant because it was the first Earth-like planet discovered in the ‘Goldilocks’-zone around another star and it is a benchmark case for the Doppler technique.”
