'Guitars Over Guns' Replaces Violence With Music To Keep At-Risk Kids In School

Zoe Thomson has basically grown up as a YouTube phenomenon, having countless videos of her performing solo guitar tunes and as part of the UK group, The Mini Band. The band formed in 2011 and is made up of Harry Esson (11), Harrison Read (11), Charlie Emmons (13), Archie Zolotuhin (13), and Zoe Thomson (11). Their covers of legendary rock acts like Metallica, Stratovarius, and Guns N’ Roses have not only wowed the online community but musicians themselves with support popping up all over the Twittersphere. Slash, Zakk Wylde, and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park are among the pack of impressed musicians who’ve helped spread the word of this gifted young band. Zoe Thomson has also landed endorsement deals including one from Daisy Rock Guitars. The band has not only received a fond stream of praise and tweets, but they are one of the finalists on “The Slammer Returns” series, which is part of CBBC (BBC TV).
