Governor of Major China Province Removed for 'Disloyalty'

The governor of a major Chinese province has been removed from his post over accusations of disloyalty to the ruling Communist Party.

Sichuan Governor Wei Hong's removal comes amid a climate of growing political intolerance under President and party chief Xi Jinping. Xi is seen as nurturing a nascent personality cult similar to that of the founder of the communist state, Mao Zedong.
