Ecologist Lizzy Lowe was studying how animals have adapted to the city life. While carrying out her research, she noticed a difference that spiders at Tamarama Beach are fatter and more fertile than the ones living in rural areas.
Lowe, from the University of Sydney, believes that golden orb weaving spiders love living near the coast. Suburb's condition also mattered for the health of the golden orbs. Lowe noticed that wealthier and more urbanized suburbs would have fatter and more fertile golden orbs in the nearby garden.
