A new study has found that gluten-free is not actually as good as claimed. It is said that people with celiac disease should avoid eating wheat with gluten but the researchers claimed that majority of the people who opt for gluten-free products are not suffering from any kind of celiac disease or even sensitivity to wheat.
Peter H.R. Green, MD, director of the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, said. "The market for gluten-free products is exploding. Why exactly we don't know. Many people may just perceive that a gluten-free diet is healthier."
