SLOW-ROASTED MEATS, warm crusty bread laid out on a crowded kitchen table, and the crack and spit of another log burning on the open fire. At this time of year, the senses are alive to the smells and tastes of winter. In the vineyard, the vines stripped bare, the dormant shoots are pruned ready for another growing season as one vintage passes and we slip into another year.
