Even as the ballots were being counted in the U.S. Senate race between Democrat Michelle Nunn and Republican David Perdue, both sides were prepared for the possibility the race could head to a runoff.

ATLANTA — Even as the ballots were being counted in the Senate race between Democrat Michelle Nunn and Republican David Perdue, both sides appeared resigned to the possibility that neither candidate would secure more than 50% of the vote, meaning there would be a runoff election Jan. 6.
