The Georgia Republican will announce next Monday, Nov. 17, that he’ll seek a third term in the Senate, according to a release posted on his campaign website.
Isakson, first elected in 2004, will be joined by state officials, lawmakers and supporters at the Capitol in Atlanta. Isakson’s campaign event not only puts an end to persistent rumors that he’ll retire, but it’s also likely it could help him clear the field.
